Welcome to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. If you're reading
this message, chances are that you are using a browser that does not support current
standards for Hypertext Markup Language and Cascading Style Sheets. Chances also are
that the site doesn't look like there's much design going on. The reason for this is
that this site was designed and built with modern standards for markup and presentation. The markup is presented in
XHTML, which you are now reading. The presentation is handled by an imported Cascading Style
Sheet. If your browser does not support modern web standards, you will
not be able to view the presentation, but will still be able to view the content.
If you typically view web sites with a graphical web browser such as Netscape, you
may want to upgrade to one of the many freely available, standards-compliant browsers.

Dear Friends,
I just received this letter (below) from Congressman Bob Filner, thanking and congratulating the NLEOMF for reaching our goal of 25,000 signatures on the commemorative stamp petition. Last Spring, Congressman Filner sponsored the commemorative stamp legislation, which more than 50 representatives have since co-sponsored.
He thanked me, and I am congratulating — and thanking — each of you for helping us reach this goal. Thanks to friends and supporters like you, we continue to be able to meet our mission of generating increased public support for the law enforcement profession. Thanks to friends and supporters like you, we continue to MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
This fall, with the Memorial as a backdrop, we plan to officially
present the petition to Congressman Filner. Every one of you who signed
the petition will be there in spirit that day as we make the
presentation. We know you share our desire to properly
recognize the service and sacrifice of our nation's law enforcement
officers and will celebrate with us on that day. Although I will be the one speaking — through your crucial support of this effort — your voices have already been heard.
Next month we're launching a new petition — the Drive Safely
Campaign — and I look forward to an even more vigorous response from each of you. In the meantime, please accept my gratitude for your support of the NLEOMF and for our nation's law enforcement officers.
Sincerely, Craig W. Floyd, Chairman, NLEOMF
LETTER FROM CONGRESSMAN BOB FILNER
Dear Craig:
I am writing to thank the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) for its work in alerting the public to the importance of honoring our fallen police officers. Also, I want to congratulate NLEOMF on reaching its goal of getting 25,000 people to sign a petition in support of H. Con. Res. 85, "expressing the sense of the Congress that a postage stamp should be issued to honor law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty."
As you are aware, I introduced this bipartisan Resolution last March
with Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-49). To date, I have been successful in getting more than 50 of my colleagues to co-sponsor H. Con. Res. 85.
Currently, the Resolution awaits action before the House Committee on
Government Reform.
The support of organizations like NLEOMF and citizens across the country
is vital to getting this bill passed. I look forward to working with you to ensure that this happens. Our fallen law enforcement heroes deserve no less.
YES, I support House Congressional Resolution 85, in which the 109th Congress expresses its sense that a postage stamp should be issued to honor law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. (Your name will appear on our online petition.)
