Herbert V. Giobbi
Chief of Staff
Herbert V. Giobbi currently serves as the Chief of Staff for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. In that capacity he is helping to guide the Fund in its effort to design, fund and build the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, DC.
A veteran of Capitol Hill, Mr. Giobbi served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Paul McHale and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro and as Special Counsel to Congressman Paul Kanjorski. He worked on such diverse efforts as prescription drug reimportation; Brownfields legislation, and a measure to provide counseling to National Guard and Reserve members serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also served as Chief of Staff to the Chairperson of the Platform Drafting Committee for the Democratic National Convention in 2004.
For five years, he was the Executive Director of the U.S. Soccer Federation Foundation, the government and philanthropic arm of U.S. Soccer. In that capacity he worked on many activities, including the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup; the development of a National Training Center with a 27,000-seat stadium, and a partnership with Major League Soccer and corporate enterprises that delivered 60,000 soccer balls to Iraqi children following the end of the major hostilities in the Second Gulf War. Prior to moving to the Washington, DC area, Mr. Giobbi practiced law in Pennsylvania for 17 years, specializing in municipal and real estate law. He was solicitor to the City of Easton for 13 years and represented the Easton Police Department.
He graduated from Lafayette College with a degree in Economics, and graduated cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law with a J.D. degree.
