NLEOM Memorial Candlelight Reception
May 13, 2004 -
Remarks by Jim Sarallo, Senior Vice-Presicent, Motorola
General Manager-America's Group
Commercial, Government and Industrial Solutions Sector

Thank you Craig and Good Evening honored guests— It's a privilege to be here on behalf of our proud team of Motorola employees.

Motorola launched a relationship with the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in 1988— as one of their first partners, and for us it's one of the most visible ways to recognize and honor the brave men and women in law enforcement who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

We take pride in knowing that our technology is a critical element in the safety of policing, and as a partner with communities throughout the entire country, we share with you the goal of reaching a time in our nation's history of never having to add names to the wall.

Tonight, as we prepare to participate in the Candlelight Vigil, I am very pleased to announce that Motorola is continuing our support toward another significant law enforcement milestone — The first National Law Enforcement Museum.

I'm proud to announce our pledge of 3 million dollars for this project!!

When we first heard of the plans to build a museum, we were excited at the prospect of having our company associated with such a worthy project. Today we are grateful we could become the Museum's first founding partner and lead corporate sponsor.

We are so glad we are able to make this announcement during National Police Week and look forward to helping build this wonderful testament to the brave men and women who protect and serve us all.

Thank you Craig for all that you and your dedicated team have done, through the years, not only to honor those in law enforcement, but to educate so many in the awesome responsibility our officers are faced with every day they put on the badge. They have polished it - now this museum will help it shine!
