The DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund, in connection with the Jeep Every Day Heroes initiative is proud to sponsor the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund's (NLEOMF) Officer of the Month program. The Officer of the Month program recognizes and honors law enforcement officers who distinguish themselves through exemplary service and devotion to duty.

The DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund developed a program to recognize the sacrifice and good works of the country's Every Day Heroes in Law Enforcement, the Fire Service, the Emergency Medical Service, and the United States Armed Forces. The DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund feels that sponsoring the Officer of the Month program is an excellent way to honor the Public Safety Sector.

Begun in 1996, the Officer of the Month award presentation takes place each May, during National Police Week, at a luncheon hosted by the NLEOMF's Board of Directors. The awards are presented to the Officers of the Month from the previous calendar year by NLEOMF Chairman Craig W. Floyd. The program seeks "to generate increased public support for the law enforcement profession by permanently recording and appropriately commemorating the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers."
