NLEOMF

Respect. Honor. Remember.

National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of America's law enforcement community. Principal organizers of National Police Week are -

  • National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF), which sponsors the annual Candlelight Vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

  • Fraternal Order of Police/Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary (FOP/FOPA), which organize the Peace Officers Memorial Day Service at the U.S. Capitol.

  • Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), which holds the National Police Survivors' Conference.

Our online NPW08 SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES (click here) includes a number of National Police Week-related events in the Washington, DC, area. Contact information is provided for each event; please direct all inquiries to the individual event organizers. Current-year survivors are especially encouraged to register for and attend the Survivors' Conference sponsored by COPS.

The 20th Annual Candlelight Vigil was held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. Sponsored by the NLEOMF, the event began at 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial grounds, located at Judiciary Square, in the 400 block of E Street, NW, Washington, DC. A reading of the names newly engraved on the Memorial immediately followed the ceremony.

*National Police Week activities and associated activities are also available in our online Calendar of events.
