OFFICER DONALD A. FOREMAN New York/New Jersey Port Authority |
 | During a law enforcement career spanning almost 30 years, Officer Foreman had been the "go to guy" serving under 15 Port Authority captains. Said his last supervisor, Captain Robert Sbarra, "If he could work for 15 captains without anyone trying to remove him, he must have done his job extremely well." |
But Donald Foreman had at least as many admirers outside the force as inside. In addition to a large extended family, he ran the youth sports program at his Catholic parish. Donald stayed in excellent condition and could easily keep up with much younger kids in friendly basketball games.
Donald was born in Brooklyn, and still lived there 53 years later. He was liked and respected by all who worked with him, especially the rookies for whom he was a mentor. He could always be depended upon to accomplish any assignment, including his last -- to help rescue people at the World Trade Center on 9/11. |
