OFFICER CLINTON DAVIS, SR. New York/New Jersey Port Authority |
 | Even when he was a kid playing cops and robbers, Clinton Davis was always the cop. After serving in the Air Force, Clinton joined the Port Authority, using his military skills to help others. On September 11, 2001, Officer Davis was at his assigned post on the ground floor of the World Trade Center when the first plane struck. He stayed to rescue others until the towers collapsed. |
Known as the life of the party, Clinton had a wonderful voice and often sang at private parties. He especially loved a country song that said, "I know where I'm going when they lay me to rest. I ain't afraid of dying, Lord. It's the living that scares me to death."
Clinton was a hero not only to his community, but also to his wife and three children. At his funeral his 18-year-old son said, "I'm glad you are free now, Dad, and in a better place. There is no other father that will go out as heroic as you." |
